Peter Donohoe brings a unique blend of Core Strength/Conditioning and Functional Movement to his classes. His philosophy is rooted in his endeavours as a professional athlete for seventeen years and his skills as a coach to world class athletes, dancers, and private clients.  Peter’s training methodology is founded in corrective movement and builds core strength, mobility, flexibility, and improved posture through a precise sequence of exercises that restores functionality throughout the body.

 

Peter is a Strength and Movement Specialist and holds several certifications from National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and International Sport Sciences Association (ISSA), and is certified as an ALTIS performance coach. Peter is also trained in several movement disciplines including Pilates and ELDOA.

The Donohoe method blends, functional movement, Mobility and Strength training into a scientifically structured system that produces results whether it’s Rowing, Running, Dance or Bobsledding. This system has helped and continues to help numerous clients recovery from injury and surgery. Having a solid understanding of the Human Body’s biomechanics and energy systems, Donohoe programs training plans that are effective and efficient and produce results time and time again.

 

The Barn/studio business hours in Carlisle are 9am to 8pm Monday – Saturday.

 

A major part of Peter’s Olympic training was maintaining a balance of highly individualized personal training while keeping the goals of the team central. The combination of regular and consistent core exercise supplemented with a more personalized training program enabled Peter to achieve and maintain exceptional levels of performance. As an individual, he created a training strategy, which prepared him for the most arduous of physical and mental challenges.

 

A former dancer, rugby player and track athlete, Peter came to the dance community as a strength and conditioning expert to enhance performance and to help prevent injuries in young and experienced dancers.
